1. Introduction
LedgerCircle is provided by Innoture Solutions Private Limited ("Innoture," "we," "our," or "us"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, share, and protect information when you access the LedgerCircle mobile or web application and related services.
2. Information We Collect
Depending on the features you use and the records you choose to create, we may process:
- Account information: first name, last name, nickname, email address, account identifier, email-verification status, account creation date, and encrypted authentication credentials.
- Shared-expense information: group names and members, expenses, payers, participants, split amounts, balances, partial or full settlements, and settlement history.
- Loan information: lender and borrower details, principal, interest rates, lock-in settings, start and end dates, repayments, interest payments, outstanding balances, and update history.
- Chit-fund information: participants, invitations and acceptance status, schedules, installments, bids, payouts, commissions, payment requests, confirmations, approvals, and history.
- Ledger and table information: table membership, date-wise particulars, amounts, totals, imported spreadsheet records, and files or reports you choose to export.
- Collaboration information: invitations, approvals, rejections, notifications, ownership, membership, and activity involving other registered users.
- Technical and usage information: session information, device or browser type, IP address, timestamps, diagnostic information, errors, and security or activity logs generated while operating the service.
LedgerCircle does not collect or store profile photographs. Profiles use initials or an avatar generated from account information.
3. How We Use Information
- Provide, operate, maintain, and improve LedgerCircle.
- Create accounts, verify email ownership, authenticate users, and prevent unauthorized access.
- Process expense splits, balances, settlements, loans, interest calculations, chit-fund schedules, shared tables, reports, and exports.
- Enforce group-, table-, loan-, chit-, membership-, ownership-, and role-based permissions.
- Send in-app notifications and service-related email verification messages.
- Investigate errors, misuse, fraud, security incidents, or support requests and maintain transaction or audit history.
- Comply with applicable contractual, accounting, regulatory, and legal obligations.
4. Device Permissions
LedgerCircle requires internet access to communicate with its secure cloud services. When you choose spreadsheet import or export features, the app may use the operating system's file picker or storage interface. The current app does not request camera, microphone, precise location, contacts, or background-tracking permissions.
5. Storage and Security
LedgerCircle uses Google Firebase services, including Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Functions, and Firebase Hosting. Information is transmitted using encrypted network connections. We use email verification, authenticated access, membership- and role-based database rules, restricted service permissions, and operational safeguards designed to protect information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or loss. No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, so absolute security cannot be guaranteed.
6. Information Sharing
We do not sell personal information. We may share or make information available only:
- To registered users who participate in the same group, loan, chit fund, or shared table, according to their role and the feature's access rules.
- To Google Firebase and other infrastructure or technical providers that process information on our behalf to operate and secure the service.
- When required by law, legal process, or a valid government request, or when necessary to protect rights, safety, users, and service security.
- As part of a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or transfer of business assets, subject to applicable law.
7. Data Retention
We retain account and application information while your account is active and for as long as reasonably necessary to provide LedgerCircle, preserve transaction and audit history, meet operational, contractual, accounting, or legal requirements, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, and enforce agreements. Some features use soft deletion, which hides a record from active views while retaining its history. Information may remain in protected backups for a limited period after deletion.
8. Your Choices and Rights
You may update supported profile information in the application. Subject to applicable law, you may request access to, correction of, export of, or deletion of your personal information or account, and may object to or request restriction of certain processing. Permissions to modify shared records depend on your role as an owner, lender, borrower, participant, or member. 9. Financial-Services Clarification
LedgerCircle is a record-keeping, calculation, and coordination tool. It does not provide banking, lending, investment, payment-processing, money-transfer, or custodial services. References to payments, repayments, settlements, interest, installments, bids, commissions, and payouts are records entered or confirmed by users for transactions performed outside LedgerCircle.
10. Children's Privacy
LedgerCircle is not intended for children under 13, or under the minimum age required in the user's jurisdiction. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children below that age. Contact us if you believe a child has provided information.
11. Third-Party Services and Links
LedgerCircle relies on third-party cloud infrastructure and may link to external websites. Those providers and websites may have their own privacy terms and practices. We encourage you to review their policies before providing information directly to them. Information may be processed where our service providers operate, subject to applicable safeguards and law.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as LedgerCircle, our practices, or legal requirements change. The revised policy will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Material changes may also be communicated within the app or through an appropriate service message.
